When she’s sent to a crime scene and finds her second dead woman in as many weeks, half-banshee detective Kiera “Mac” McLoughlin is convinced a serial killer is on the loose. Incubi are extinct, her boss insists. But what else can kill a woman in the throes of pleasure? When her partner is murdered after using witchcraft to locate the killer and Mac is thrown off the case, her frustration turns to desperation.

Certain the killer is an incubus, Mac works behind her department’s back to chase down slim, sometimes perilous leads. While the killer eludes her, she does discover handsome Aidan Byrne, an investigative counterpart from the enigmatic Otherworlder Enforcement Agency. Mac typically runs her investigations fast and hard, but with Aidan at her side, she’s running this one “hot” as well. But Aidan knows more than he’s letting on—something that could shatter their blazing romance and add Mac to the killer’s growing body count…

My Thoughts

The Banshee Charmer is set in a world where Otherworlders are known about publically and even have representatives on the police force. There is also the OEA (Otherworlder enforcement Agency) to deal with OW issues. The story is centred around Keira “Mac” who is a half-banshee and her unofficial team-up iwth OEA agent Aidan.

Things are strange from the very first and only get weirder as the story progresses. Murders are happening that Mac believes had to be the work of an Incubi, only problem is the Incubi are believed to be extinct. Then you’ve got the chemistry between her and Aidan to deal with – and he tries so hard to be a good boy, lol.

I absolutely loved the story and eagerly await more from both the author and specifically in this series. Mac and Aiden were great. . . well fleshed out characters that you could really feel for. The world was vivid and inviting. And the killer? I was both shocked and not at the same time. I was just glad it wasn’t who I thought it was (Thank goodness I was wrong!).

This was a well written, fast paced, paranormal story with a few twists and turns. The sex is goooood and the mystery is fun yet aggravating all at the same time. I look forward to more OWE stories and truly hope Tiffany uses all the great dynamics and potential she has built into her universe and characters.

My Rating

About the Author

Tiffany Allee currently lives in Phoenix, AZ, by way of Chicago and Denver, and is happily married to a secret romantic. She spends her days working in Corporate America while daydreaming about sexy heroes, ass-kicking heroines, and interesting ways to kill people (for her books, of course). Her nights are reserved for writing and bothering her husband and cats (according to them). Her passions include reading, chocolate, travel, wine, and family.

  1. I just finished it this week. Going to write up my review soon, hopefully tomorrow. I thought it was a little bit too short. Wish it was longer.

    1. Short? Yes but it was only a Novella right? I enjoyed the story even if I wished there was more of it. Hope you enjoyed the story itself.

  2. Yeah it was. I just wish it had been longer.

    1. Agreed. If you stop back by drop off your review link. I’d love to see your post.

  2. […] Other than that I would have to say this is a very interesting world (banshees and selkies and incubus and so much more). I like the main character and I think there is a lot potential for future stories. […]
