One year ago, something happened to David. Following the only clue he had he headed out into the desert. Now he has asked me to come see him. But when I arrived, he was gone. The people in town claim they have never heard of him and everyone wants me to leave.
But I know he was here and he is in trouble.
He can’t survive out there for long.
Can he?
David. I will find you.

My Thoughts

Emma paints a great sense of the desert and the people she encounters. He research shows as does her creativity. Megan (the “me” from above) is a bit wild but she is also loyal and twisted (in a good way).

The clear story plot made this story easy to follow but it still had meat and depth. There is fighting, which was enjoyable to read and while some might find it confusing, I did not. It definitely meets my suspense and surprise needs for enjoying this type of story

It all starts with texts from a missing David. Her adventures once she arrives in the town he had invited her to visit him in are dangerous and painful for her and her beloved bike. I love how she deals with ‘boys’ that don’t understand the concept of personal space. This was a wild ride and the POV character, Megan, is strong and enjoyable to read. David is beyond stubborn, though in a white knight kind of way.

This book was very enjoyable. It’s paranormal but not of the more common varieties (a nice change even though I like my vampires, meres, fay, and wolves). I have not read the first book in the series, sadly, but I was able to enjoy Anasazi fully even without that. I fully recommend this book to anyone that likes a bit of twist to their suspense/paranormal adventures.

There were a few spots that I think could have been strengthened but it was so enjoyable and engaging that I could easily forgive those. I give Anasazi 4.5 out of 5.

Read and enjoy!
