Passions are erupting.

Cryptic alliances are forming.

Armies are gathering.

And the fabric between good and evil is slowly tearing open.

Time is running out on Elysa and The Order of the Anakim. A gathering gloom hangs heavy over their mystic realm as the demon hordes measure a final deathblow in their age-old struggle. Step by step, the demons murder, capture, and conjure their way to a realm unified by utter darkness. Their ruthless queen Ashtaroth, guided only by ambition and her voracious thirst for carnal pleasures, masterminds their rising tide of evil.

The Order must unify its splintering members to meet the defining challenge of their history… or pass forever into oblivion.

But in a world where magic, warfare, and sinister prophecies rule the day… in the night, vile enemies may seek the warmth in each other’s touch.

At this vital juncture, Elysa’s passion is lured by a wicked voice both arousing and terrifying. If the love between Elysa and Jarron is eternal, it will have to overcome pressures seen and unseen and withstand the crush of an all-out attack by demon forces.

Darkness is bleeding its treachery into our world and Elysa and The Order of the Anakim must find a way to combat the gathering doom.

Dark Skies will sweep legions of fantasy fiction fans into Elysa Amalfi’s thrilling and treacherous world of the supernatural.

10 Things I Wish I Knew About Being an Author I Didn’t Know Before

1. I wish I knew how hard it really is to be an author. Writing is the easy part. We’re writers and writing is a part of who we are. It’s all the other stuff, like trying to figure out how to make our books visible and finding readers that can relate to our stories.

2. I wish I knew how vulnerable I would feel with each book. A part of me goes into every story I write and once I release it, it’s an invitation for opinions–both good and bad.

3. I wish I knew how much I would grow as a person once I chose to be a published author. All of a sudden, I’m not just writing for myself. I’m writing for a community and it’s not just about me anymore.

4. I wish I knew how many great people I would meet through the virtual communities by becoming an author. I’ve never had a big social circle. I have a few very dear friends who have stuck with me through the years and that’s how it always was. But now, I can say, I have a few more friends who have the same interests and are going through a similar author journey like me.

5. I wish I knew that my comfort zone would continually be challenged. Never in my life, did I ever think I could put together a blog, figure out WordPress, be on Facebook, Twitter and be social! LOL! But, wow! Look, I’m on a Blog Tour!

6. I wish I knew what was once just ordinary writer’s block that I could wait to let pass, is now a beast I have to cage when it roars its ugly head. It’s crazy, but now that I’m ‘authoring,’ writer’s block affects me so differently. I don’t feel good when it happens. It feels almost like someone is sticking a cork in me and all this pressure builds until I implode, deflate, and feel lost — like that plastic bag that’s gets strewn in the street and drifts around until someone picks it up.

7. I wish I knew how good it would feel to hear someone talk about my story and my characters. It’s one of the best feelings, ever. Makes me feel like a proud mama!

8. I wish I knew that I would go into self-publishing. I would not have put my pen down for so many years.

9. I wish I knew how to write faster.

10. I wish I knew that chasing my dream to be a full time writer would be both painful and gratifying. Seriously, this is one of the most frustrating rides I’ve been on. It has so many ups and downs sometimes I feel crazed by it all. But at the end of each day, I can’t let go of it and my heart urges me to keep pressing on and not to give up. I’m ready for the scrapes and I’m here for the long haul. Every dream worth chasing is worth the work to catch it.

"Hey, sleeping beauty!" Jarron blurted to rouse Caleb out of a nap.

Caleb was comfortably leaned back in a chair and kept his eyes closed, greeting Jarron with a standing salute of his middle finger. "Why are you bothering me?" Caleb asked, still pretending disinterest.

"Sirius know you’re sleeping on the job?" Jarron quipped.

"I wasn’t sleeping. I was meditating," He smiled, recalling the dream that was so rudely interrupted. "Besides, there’s nothing going on. It’s been quiet."
Caleb finally opened his eyes to look at Jarron. "What have you been up to?"

"Training," Jarron answered with a smile. "Where’s Sirius?"

"Level 3 with Anya. Says he’s got more research to do." Caleb stretched his arms over his head and let out a hearty yawn. "He should have been back by now. What do you have him working on?"

"He went scouting with Anya and found some things that have him spooked."

Caleb propped his feet on the table and quickly looked at the monitors to make sure things were still quiet.

"Before Baja, the demon attacks were getting more intense. A lot more Great Demons showing up. New demons we haven’t encountered before."

Caleb shrugged. "We get attacked all the time. We suffer injuries. It’s part of the calling."

"There’s something different. It’s in the air. I can feel it."

"So what’s Sirius looking into?" Caleb didn’t want to admit he felt the same way. That he was worried. That even though there was little to no activity, there was change happening in the city. He couldn’t explain it, but the thoughts from the city that he often picked up on were different, veiled somehow, like his reception was being interrupted.

Jarron walked over to the conference table and opened a folder with stacks of surveillance pictures inside. He chose one from the stack, handing a 5 x 7 picture to Caleb. A red circle clearly marked a dark-haired man standing in the middle of a crowd, his gaze seeming to look off in the distance. It was Will.

Caleb dropped his feet from the table and sat up in his seat. He stared at the picture. He had given his word to Isabel that he would not reveal his knowledge about Will’s presence. She had good reason to hold off, but if Jarron and Sirius were already tailing the guy, it would only be a matter of time before they figured out who he was.
