Frustrated with her father’s demand she find a mate, Tawny does, but it’s not one that will receive her family’s blessing. Plus, her new love has no memory of his past…even his name.

Discovering an unconscious man who may be vampire, in the neighbor’s yard leads werewolf Tawny Howls down a love path that’s not going to make her father happy. She senses this man is different, but that doesn’t stop her attraction. Werewolves and vampires are traditional enemies, and it doesn’t help when he remembers nothing about his prior life.

Awakening to find a beautiful woman hovering over him, he remembers nothing of his past life. When Tawny decides to call him David, he’s fine with the name and the attention he receives from his nurse. But why does the scent of the prey she hunts excite him more than the food she cooks?

Can the strong attraction between a shifter and a vampire overcome years of distrust for each other’s species? Will the discovery of his true identity ensnare them in a battle that endangers their lives, in an effort to save mankind from Demon rule?

Where were you born and where do you call home?

I was born in Kansas.  When my parents separated shortly after my birth, my mother took me back to North Carolina to be close to her family.  Growing up in the South on a farm I chopped at the bit to get out, so it isn’t surprising I married a military man and traveled the world.  Denver is the city of residence at this time and probably will be for a long time…forever, if my husband can make it happen.

What or who inspired you to write?  And how long have you been writing?

Several of my English teachers in school planted the seed.  But as with all seeds they need to receive the light needed to grow and after being teased by my then husband, I stopped putting ideas on paper.  I continued to play with plots in my head until about seven or eight years ago.  My new husband saw a short story I did for my entertainment and said, “Why are you wasting your time with a dead end job when you should be writing.”  He’s my major support system.

I love reading the warnings on the blurbs for many books. If you could write a warning label for yourself as a person or an author, what would it say?

I had a review recently where the reviewed said my book was one that would make you laugh so hard you’d pee your pants.  A lot of readers like the humor.  So I guess a warning would be:

WARNING:  Laughter from reading this book may result in wet pants.

Which character speaks the loudest, to you? Do any of them clamor to be heard over the others?

That’s a variable in a WIP.  And of course, all the books that aren’t getting attention are screaming in the background.  That leads to me making notes to drown out the noise so I can continue with the current story.

Have you based any of your characters on someone you know, or real events in your own life?

Oh, yeah!

Do you have plans for a new book?   Is this book part of a series?

This book is part of the DEAD series.  The next in the series will be DEAD Hot.  There are couple of more in the planning process for next year.  But, I also have another series, plus some stand-a-lone books in the works.

Who designed the cover of your book?

The amazing Kelly Shorten at Musa Publishing!  I love her work and Kelly, the woman.  She’s fun, supportive and just plain ‘good’ people.

Where do you see yourself in five (5) years?

Like every other author…on the best seller lists.  And of course movie and television deals…LOL

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?

How about a little stone cottage along the coast of Scotland for late spring through early fall?  Then winters would be the beach house on a Caribbean island.

Do you prefer ebooks, paperbacks or hardcover?

I read mostly ebooks and paperbacks.  My ebook reader is so easy to stick in my purse and have handy when I’m waiting for whatever reason.  You’ll find paperbacks in various stages of reading in almost every room of my house.  When I have a few minutes, I pick the one in that room and devour a few pages.

What can we expect from you in the future?  ie More books of the same genre? Books of a different genre?

Another release in the Magical Love series, hopefully buy early November.  And more in that series as well as the DEAD series next year.

I also will be expanding into Children’s and YA books in the coming year.  In addition I’m working on a Fantasy Women’s Fiction.

What do you do to unwind and relax?

Hang out with my husband; spend time with the family and friends, read.  And travel as much as I can.

Do you have any advice for other writers?

Keep following your dream if you are still working toward publishing.  If you are published and not selling millions, don’t give up the goals.

Do you write under a pen name?

Yes, Lizzie T. Leaf is a pen name.  There will be others with the new genres.  Have the Children’s/YA already since I need to have for the contract I’m going over now.   I’m going to become a true ‘split’ personality.

What are your pet peeves?

One is rude drivers.  You know the kind that pass on the right shoulder then squeeze their way back into the traffic flow during slow commutes.  Or weave in and out of traffic creating accident potential.

The other is people who can’t manage to flush the toilet in public restrooms.  I mean for crying out loud, they can’t place their behind on the auto flush ones to trigger the flush mode, or be bothered to push the button.  Plus, the don’t even attempted on the manual flushes.   Yuk!

Cats or dogs?

Love both.  Have a cat who thinks he owns the house.  I tell him when he starts buying his food and cleaning his litter pan, then I’ll dance to all his demands.  Until then, things are done on my timeline.

White wine or red?

Red.  Merlot or Cabernet.

Coffee or tea?

Both.  Start off with a couple of cups of coffee in the morning and then switch to tea.

Favourite food?

Ice cream!  But I confess to cutting back because I’m trying to eat healthier.

Laptop or desktop for writing?

Both.  At home, I usually am on the desktop, but if my husband is home and on the computer, then I go to my laptop.

Where and when do you prefer to do your writing?

Anywhere a story idea happens.  The set pattern at home is mornings at the desktop.  I carry a notepad in my purse and if an idea strikes I start scribbling.  When for some odd reason I don’t have my notepad, I ‘ve been known to grab napkins in restaurants or use the back of a receipt pulled out of my wallet.
