How Fast To Love? ~ Romancing the Hop

Romance is a special, complicated topic for many. I personally love reading romance stories (and writing them too, lol). One thing that I have heard a lot, and have always found to be rather annoying, is that it’s “too easy” for the couple or that they “fall too fast” for it to be real.

Well, in some cases I would have to agree, in others. . . not so much. You see, my maternal grandparents didn’t meet until they were fully grown and had jobs and lives of their own. And they were 13 years different in age. She was 30 so it’s not like he robbed the cradle, guys. . . relax Winking smile But from first ‘date’ to wedding was only like 4 months or so and no, the baby didn’t come along for almost 5 years.

So do I believe in quick love? Yes!

Do I think a couple has to ‘match’ to make it work? No!

They stayed together ‘til the day my Mimi passed. She had MS so there was a lot of issues they had to overcome throughout their marriage, but my Grandy truly loved her, and thought nothing of the extra care (she still walked and such so it wasn’t that kind of care).

But, watching them as a child made me believe that with the right person, anything was possible and that there was no such thing as too fast. If it was right for the heart, then time meant nothing.

So what do I think about romance and romance books? Bring ‘em on! How fast they fall isn’t an issue. What matters is the heart, the willing to overcome any obstacle for the one you love, and hey. . . if there’s a sexy guy involved, all the better Open-mouthed smile

Now for your part . . . Leave a comment below to enter. Answer the following:

How many ways can a hearts true love be shared? After poisoning, near death attacks, consummated passions, and possible insanity visit Anya, Nicholas, and Declán they embark on their future. Or at least they try to. Jealousy can be a pain, in more ways than one.

Can Anya protect her lovers, find peace within herself, and lead the House Millar? With her loves and guards, Nicholas and Declán, she sets out to do just that. If only life, eternal life, were that easy.

Come take a walk with our loving family and witness the strange turns and twists as life, love, and passions collide with greed, politics, and evil.

Amazon (kindle) | eStore (print)

Anya Millar had no memory of her life or an instruction manual on how to navigate the insane world of humans, biting, and reality. Instead, Anya has had to learn to navigate the world of love, life, and sanity while avoiding those that would see her dead or enslaved.

This is the ongoing journey of Anya and Nicholas, human loving vampires and the human they love, Declán. What makes it all more complicated is that they are abominations in their own world and Declán is a natural born vampire hunter called a Guardian.

Anya must come to terms with who she is and her missing past, Nicholas must win back the object of his eternal love while dealing with new cravings in his silent heart, and Declán must learn to destroy the very creatures that he has unequivocally given his heart and blood.

  1. I like romances about ‘real’ people who fall in love and then struggle to overcome the obstacles or conflicts in their path. And I want a hero I can fall in love with too!

I like romance books for the escape and the knowledge that there will be someone happy at the end. Do I think sometimes it’s too easy? Sure – but that is part of the “other world” creation of the romance novel – it keeps the story in perspective for me.

I don’t think time matters at all for romance. My mother and stepfather met and were married in 3 months. That was 22 years ago and they’re still in love.

I loved reading about your grandparents. So sweet. I’ve been with my husband since I was young and now we’ve been married almost twenty years. We work at it, but we’re still in love and happy!

I got into romance through m/m; I never would have wanted to read it otherwise. But even in a lot of het and menage romances, I’m amazed by the complexity of the stories. I love to read a happy ending, of course, but the infinite permutations of how to get there are what intrigue me about romance.

I like romance & romance books for the same reason. Everyone’s story is different. Do I believe you can “fall to fast”? NO! I met and married my hubby in like 3 1/2 months. He was just it for me. I knew it as soon as he smiled at me. lol Also the baby didn’t come for 14 months after the wedding. lol Thanks for the giveaway.

My parents romance was quick too and the were married for 38 years before my father passed. It doesn’t matter to me how long you know a person before you fall in love with them. You are learning each other for the rest of your life because we constantly change. Loving that person means you grow with them.

I understand about romance being fast. My parents met in January of their senior year of HS and got married the day after graduation in June. They KNEW and have been together for 68 years and still going strong. What’s not to like about romance? the excitement, the unknown feelings, the wondering and then the sex can be so great.
