17 year old Jadyn and her dad are vampire hunters. That is until her dad decides it’s time for Jadyn to have a “normal” life. When he moved them to Miami, Florida the last thing Jadyn expected was for there to be vampires.

Jadyn doesn’t want to have a normal life, but then she starts to make new friends. She starts to think that maybe a normal life might not be so bad after all. But soon she realizes that maybe her friends aren’t “human” as she once thought they were.

On top of everything else a very powerful vampire, Tabatha, seeks revenge on Jadyn. People from her school start disappearing, and people start dying. She wants to stop the deaths, but Tabatha has other plans for her.

Can Jadyn stop the one vampire that is impossible to kill before its too late?

My Thoughts

Let me begin by saying I absolutely loved Jadyn. She is such a fun human character, so full of attitude, life, and stubborn? OMG yes!

Jadyn starts off hating the entire idea of ‘normal’ and then finds out that even her normal is paranormal, lol. I had to love the irony of the friends she attracts, including their ‘races’. Tabatha is a nasty creature, truly worthy of villain status (love how manipulative and twisted she is). I don’t want to give away too much so this will be short but sweet :).

Heather is a creative writer that truly catches the teen mindset and problems of trying to juggle school, guys, monsters, all while staying a ‘good’ girl and protecting her father. Love the inclusion of the ultra-rare good vamp. Hate the end (Ok, so I don’t hate it, it just makes me want to hunt Heather down and demand a sneak peak at book #2!)

Loved it! I’m giving My Fairytale Life 4.5 drops. This was a fast read for me as I was drawn in immediately and devoured it in less than one day. I will be on the lookout for Heather as an up and coming Indy author. I recommend My Fairytale Life to all that love paranormal reads, especially YA Paranormal Romances.

My Rating

About the Author

I am a returning resident to Arkansas. I just migrated south from Saint Louis, MO with my husband. We have almost been married a year. :) I love to write. I have been writing since I was a kid – literally. I decided in the 2nd grade I would write a book. I wrote lots of stories and poems… And did I mention I wrote over 200 songs? (Yeah, I’m a musician too). So I wrote my very first novel at the ripe age of 14… My Mom still has it :-/. Ok, so maybe it wasn’t my best work, but I had a LOT of fun writing it! I started college at the young age of 17. (I graduated high school at 16). And my English papers were always a hit in my classroom. Somebody told me “you should make that story into a book”. I pushed it to the back of my mind… Until recently. When I’m not writing, I am normally reading. I am also a caffeine addict.

This one sounds really good. I’ve read some YA paranormal that were okay but this one sounds sorta kinda like Buffy and I worshipped Buffy.
