Paige Burner is the hottest L.A. murder detective imaginable, but she’s so alone. Her only friends are her weed and her Hello Kitty vibrator. Along comes Jean Simons, who wants to create a virus to destroy the authoritarian element of society… and kill Charles Manson.

My Thoughts

Pageburner switches between the lives of Paige Burner, an intelligent (though drug using) homicide detective, and Jean Simons, Genetic PHD and mentally deranged man.

I struggled with how to review this book as it is an excellently written, complex journey through the questions of morality, bio-warfare, and drug use. I have serious issues with the extent and derangements of the drug usage and the illness (mental and bio) that it brings.  In the end I think Jean, Paige and Maxxy make a great unit but fear for the world they inhabit!

I had a lot of trouble liking either of the main characters because of their part in the mass murder but… and this is a big one, the story is engaging and you find yourself page after page, riveted, waiting to find out what happens next. I loved it!

Jason is a crazy, thoughtful new Indy author that shows a unique perception and application of morality in his constructed world. I give PageBurner 3 1/2 stars only because of the blasé attitude of drug use (yes it’s a personal bias but heh). Over all the story is a 4 for enjoyment and writing. I loved the story and look forward to reading more from him in the future and happily recommend this to any that love a psychological mystery as it definitely makes the lines blur and the brain twitch.
