BTT – Sequel

If you could get a sequel for any book, what would it be?

Don’t forget to leave a link to your actual response (so people don’t have to go searching for it) in the comments—or if you prefer, leave your answers in the comments themselves!

Try as I might, I can’t think of a book that I truly wanted a sequel to that didn’t have one or that didn’t have one planned.  There have been times I’ve finished a book and been truly TO’d that the next wouldn’t be out for a year or more 🙁 – why I hate getting into a series too early, lol.  But that I wanted and the author didn’t agree… hum… Can’t think of one.  If I think of one later, I’ll come back and update but I’m usually pretty happy with self contained stores being left that way.

Thanks for visiting my blog 🙂

Here’s a question I have as an author. Do you think the trend to ebooks will spawn the rebirth of the serial?

I sort of like the idea of pubbing a novel a chapter at a time . . . have you ever considered it?

Readers might balk at the price, tho . . . as long as Amazon has a pricing floor of 99 cents for instance you’d have to charge that per chapter . . .

    1. You mean like what used to be done in papers and magazines? I think it could lead to such but as you pointed out, the 99 cents thing would be an issue. Most books I’ve read plus those I write have too many chapters to make that reasonable. 25 chapter book = 24.75 or pub as a whole book for 5.99-7.99 …
I would love to see serials come back though… I used to have some that had been reprinted and bound once completed.

Thanks for the drop in 🙂

  1. I completely agree with you! This question is tough! Thank you for stopping by my blog! 🙂

    1. Glad to have visited… love your site btw!

  2. Thanks for dropping by! Your blog is just drop-dead gorgeous, I’m in love with it 😀

And I agree – most of my favourite books either have a sequel already or they don’t need one. And I prefer books to films as well! 🙂

I don’t think I’ve ever wanted a sequel to a stand-alone book. Thanks for stopping by my blog. Also I love your blog theme – it’s gorgeous 🙂
