Teaser Tuesdays (9/13)

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!) < /li>
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

My Teasers:

“She’s such a nice girl, even if she is a policeman.”

“Policewoman. And anyway she’s a detective.”

“When are you going to marry her, anyway?”

“Mom! In the first place we’re just friends. And in the second place—” She’s a woman. But he couldn’t very well say that. With his mother, he was still firmly ensconced in the closet… and then he realized he was actually standing in his closet and repressed a laugh. “In the second place we aren’t attracted to each other.” There. That was no lie.

~ch. 1, “Foxe Hunt” by Haley Walsh [ARC]

  1. Now this sounds like an interesting book. Wonder when and how he’s going to get out of the closet!

    1. Now isn’t that the question, lol. I loved the fist book, Foxe Tail, and this one seems to be just as good.

  2. Great teaser. This book sounds really good.

I love your tease. One of my children is gay and I have met so many young friends of his who had such bad experiences with coming out. It is heartbreaking. This book sounds like it is handling it with humor. I think I will have to read this.
I hit your like button for FaceBook and received this message: URL or Page could not be liked because it’s been blocked. I don’t know what is up with that but I went manually to your page and was able to like it. Just thought I would let you know what happened.

    1. The first book is Foxe Tail and I know it deals with issues of teen fear and 2 teens ‘coming out’. It’s a murder mystery and not for young kids as there is one sex scene in the book. BUT It is a great read and I can’t wait to finish Foxe Hunt!

I’m still fighting with Facebook over that. They have me listed as a ‘bad’ site. I can’t get it through to them that this is a book site. Nothing dangerous here, sigh.
